About the role
The Bus Driver provides transportation to the residents for appointments and errands, such as medical appointments, banking, shopping, worship services, entertainment, and other miscellaneous activities
Work Schedule/ Shift
Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays / 8am-4pm
Compensation
$17-$19/hr
What you'll do
- Transport residents to, and pick-up from, doctor’s offices, banks, restaurants, markets, food banks, etc.
- Assist passengers, including residents who utilize a motorized scooter, in and out of the van.
- Maintain vehicle, purchase fuel and supplies, prepare reports and other records that are requested by management.
- Interact with residents in a friendly manner, providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident's health to management as appropriate.
- Ensure all vehicle license plates, inspection tags, and insurance cards are current and displayed properly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of all vehicles.
- Work in a safe manner and ensure that unsafe actions are brought to the attention of the Director.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to operate a bus safely.
- Extensive knowledge of motor vehicle laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to diagnose mechanical problems.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid commercial driver’s license.
- Must have a clean driving record and minimum of 1 year driving experience.
- Basic knowledge of operating a lift gate and securing wheelchairs.

- Prolonged periods of sitting and operating the bus.
- Must be able to assist passengers when needed.
- Must be able to lift or hold 100 pounds.
