Description

We are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our Illuminus Institute team to work with and orient a multitude of new and current team members to support our senior living communities. We are a fast-growing company with a lot of potential for growth.


The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization’s learning needs, including the implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development, career growth, mentorship and other continuous learning of internal team members through an organization wide Education Institute.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Represents the organization in a manner consistent with its mission, vision, and values; actively promotes a culture of belonging through professional conduct, relationships, and programmatic initiatives.
  • Designs and delivers engaging, learner-centered curriculum aligned with defined learning objectives; utilizes interactive facilitation methods to maximize participation and knowledge retention; incorporates learner feedback and outcome data to continuously evaluate and refine educational content.
  • Uses feedback, metrics, and best practices to improve trainings that align with organizational quality metrics and promoting operational efficiency and/or effectiveness.
  • Develops and coordinates a mentorship program that supports a 30-60-90 day plan for clinical and non-clinical staff, focused on building confident, skilled staff and increasing retention.
  • Leads the planning for all staff annual Virtual Dementia experiential training and education software program compliance.
  • Provides career coaching sessions, tools, and resources to support career progression; including facilitating communities of practice and supporting individual licensure and development goals.
  • Provides operational support for the Institute by performing tasks such as scheduling classes, coordinating training enrollment, and documenting processes.
  • Promotes the field of aging by making available in-services to residents, visitors, various associations, partners, and educational institutions.
  • Promotes resident-centered care.
  • Responsible for on-call services and performing other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on education, aging, human resources or other related field required. Equivalent education/experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of two-three years of teaching or training experience at the adult level preferred.
  • Experience in independently designing educational programs or trainings that utilize learning outcomes participant feedback, and engaging facilitation technique to ensure impactful and learner-centered experiences.

  • Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
