The Lutheran Home is looking for a Part-time Weekend Dietary Aide to join our friendly Assisted Living Kitchen. We’re seeking the right candidate for a weekend position on Saturday and Sunday, with the option for Friday if needed. Typically, you'll enjoy a consistent 8-hour shift that ends by 6 pm, giving you plenty of time to enjoy your evening. In this role, you’ll help with meal prep, serve delicious meals, and keep the kitchen clean and organized, all while embracing our values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, serve, and store foods at proper temperatures, following sanitation guidelines to ensure safety and quality.
  • Assure foods are served in an attractive manor.
  • Properly rotate, label, and date food products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Take care of food service equipment, using it safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and storing food to maintain an organized kitchen.
  • Follow sanitary guidelines, performing daily cleaning tasks, both assigned and unassigned, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Wash dishes, flatware, pots, and pans by either hand or using the dishwasher.
  • Interact with residents and families in a warm, friendly manner, caring, friendly manner, and work to meet the needs of residents, specifically with respect to diet and food preferences.
  • Promote a positive team environment.

This is a part-time position with typical hours from 9:30am – 6:00pm, Saturday and Sunday with option for Friday if needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Dietary experience preferred
