The purpose of this position is to prepare and provide food service to patients in a cost-effective, efficient manner and to safely meet patient needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner.
Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
Meet regularly with Food Service Director regarding menus, service, procedures, etc.
Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces after food preparation.
Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
Be responsible for avoiding food waste.
Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
Be responsible for care of food service equipment.
Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments.
Attend in-service training programs for food service employees and as assigned.
Report any unusual incidents to the Food Service Director, Executive Director or Manager off Duty.
Perform any other duties as required by the Food Service Director, Executive Director or Manager on Duty in an effective, timely and professional manner.
Requirements
Minimum of (1) year experience in restaurant cooking and general kitchen operations.
(1 - 2) years healthcare food service experiences preferred
Requires high school education or equivalent.
Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English. Must possess strong oral, written and
telephone skills.
Must be dependable
Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets
Certified in First Aid/CPR Obtain a Food Handlerβs Permit
Capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory
