Activity Bus Driver

The Cottages Assisted Living is looking for an experienced Activity Bus Driver who can service all 10 of our small assisted living locations. The Activity Bus Driver will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of residents to and from activities and destinations. This person will also be a part of the Facilities Team and assist with any other miscellaneous tasks to increase efficiencies. The Facilities Team consists of IT Department, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Activity Bus Driver. The optimal person for this position is someone who works independently who has above average problems solving and communication skills. This is a part time position that may turn into full time. We are looking for someone with the following (but not limited to) knowledge.....

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Work closely with Administrators, home office, and upper management
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of company bus and other equipment
• Follow company policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety policies
• Assist residents with belongings, wheelchairs and walkers
• Assist residents in and out of buildings and vehicles as needed
• Utilize the lift when necessary
• Conduct daily check of bus operations i.e. fuel, oil, wipers, fluids, interior/exterior lights, etc.
• Take bus to service center when authorized
• Ensure the bus is clean, sanitized, and in good repair at all times
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements:

• GREAT ATTITUDE, one of compassion and a sincere desire to help others
• Ability to take direction, follow rules exactly, be proactive and thoughtful
• Successful completion of a Criminal History check
• Pass the post-offer drug test
• Be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• 1 year driving passenger bus experience
• CDL passenger endorsement
• Excellent communication, team building, and decision making skills
• First Aid and CPR preferred
